Pictures I love of Spoleto and our house in Umbria
I love taking pictures! My teenager children hate it and always ask me "why do you need to take some many!" but this is because it immortalizes memories and time. Here are some pictures of our house, and Spoleto
Outside Space
Where to start? Outside is where we have done the most transformation - Interestingly, in the UK we would spend our time and money renovating the inside first. For me, when we bought the house in Summer 2023 my priority was the outside. There was a lot of work to be done! I knew we needed a pool for the hot summer months, but I also didn't want to build a permanent structure, so an above ground pool did the job. One day we will install a fixed pool but for now it's perfect for cooling down on those hot summer days. I love our pool picture with my mother Fran in the background
Our terrace and surrounding gardens are just heavenly to sit and drink wine on balmy summer evenings, the sounds of the wild boar and the crickets reminding us we are in nature. The views are wonderful too, surrounded by mountains and forests, but the city just on our doorstep. Just perfect!

The lounge
This room is my favourite place to sit in the winter months, I love to have cosy dinners and close the door shutters when it's dark outside. When we first bought the house it was a dining room, with an enormous table that extends 14 feet long. We moved that into the garage. I wanted this to be a chilled out space, for all seasons.
The l-shaped sofa also converts into a double bed, which could be useful for unexpected guests
It's forever changing, I love to go to the second hand shops and find wonderful pieces that match the vibe of the space.

The Bedrooms
It takes a while to get the combination of colours and fabrics for a bedroom in Italy. I chose earthy and sky colours for the rooms to match the landscape.
The double "Garden Room" has doors leading out to the terrace area - a perfectly shaded areas for morning coffees and lunchtime reads.
The bigger Master bedroom has a giant king size bed, and a single bed in there too, useful for family sleeping!
Spoleto
Beautiful, historic and atmospheric, the old town of Spoleto is like stepping back in time.
Narrow streets full of Italian atmosphere. Little shops selling magic and of course the restaurants. Check out my Secret eats in this website for places I love to go and experience the authentic, quality pastas, truffles and meats of the region.
